That would be why Stand 21 is vacant, then.
What's more interesting is that there is no stand 13 at all. Superstitious, Steve? |

That would be why Stand 21 is vacant, then. Indeed. If anyone wants a stand, talk to Chris now.
What's more interesting is that there is no stand 13 at all. Superstitious, Steve? I don't do the stand numbers. |

"Qercus removed from exhibitor list due to extenuating circumstances." Would those circumstances be not having a magazine out or being asked to pay for the stand? |

I don't know the specific details, so I'm not going to comment on them. However, given what I do know, I'd suggest that people might want to avoid turning this into a "let's bash Qercus" thread: that way, any potential for subsequent foot-in-mouth will be minimised. |

Where's the official "let's bash people who spell Qercus wrong" thread? I'm sorry, I just have trouble writing abominations like "qe-" at the beginning of a word, particularly so if writing in English. Did you know that the magazine's name is derived from the latin word for oak, quercus? Even in Latin it's "qu-". I officially disapprove. |

However, given what had already been written, and the reason that I was given for John's withdrawal, I thought it might be helpful to discourage further comments that might be regretted later. |

http://www.wakefieldshow.org.uk/travel.html doesn't say. No, but I've just asked two men who might and will report back.
IIRC it was around 9.45am last year, to arrive for 10am at the venue. |

Are the timings on the theatre programme accurate? It says the last presentation is at 4.30pm, which would be a very short talk given that's also the closing time... |

I think you'll find that the exhibitors hall closes at 16.30, NOT the theatre. |

Anyone know when the minibus service from the station to the show starts in the morning? No, but I've just asked two men who might and will report back. And the answer is... The first bus will leave after 9.30am: the driver will wait until he has 'enough' passengers (or, presumably, until the ones that he has start to get militant). After dropping off at the venue, the bus returns immediately to Westgate, then waits for passengers again. In other words, it's largely demand-driven to work with the incoming trains.
This continues until the website timetable kicks in at 12.15pm: after that, the bus will leave the venue for the station at the designated times (which will be on display at the hotel, too). During this time, departures from the station will be somewhere in between. |

The first presentation is at 10.30am; the last at 3.30pm. |

[...] What's more interesting is that there is no stand 13 at all. [...] Therefore, I suggest turning this into the "Volunteers for Stand 13 at Wakefield 2012" thread! I don't do superstitious nonsense. I therefore volunteer to have Stand 13 at Wakefield 2012.
Indeed, I'll more than happily have my stand renumbered as 13 this year.

I'm not going to Wakefield, but I hope someone who is will post a show report here. The ARMini in particular interests me. I've also just downloaded and installed NetSurf 2.7 and am using it to post this |

Well the ARMini is available to buy and take away from Wakefield Given its size (three times the size of an A9Home, and about a third the size of the smallest Iyonixes), it really should be called the ARMedium |

I should probably add (tongue in cheek) that we had a healthy stock of HDMI<>DVI cables at reasonable prices - silly me for not thinking to offer you one! |

Good point, Rob, but then it couldn't be pronounced to rhyme with "Harmony", which was one of the intended nuances of the name. |

Although the organisers won't be doing a fourteenth show next year, I'm afraid. We did that in 2009, so if we decide to do another we'd like to think that it would be the seventeenth. Unless our show numbers are like the volume numbers for The WROCC newsletter that the Club were selling on CD, in which case, who knows... |

<checks>
Ah, that's what I missed!
I counted the shows listed on the page at http://www.wrocc.org.uk/show/ and forgot about the ones prior to that - which are talked about elsewhere (the link at the bottom).
Annoyingly, when I put that bit in, I checked a couple of times, because I was sure it should have been more - but at no point did I spot that link, so in the end I went with what I'd counted.
I'll fix it now. |

The shows listed there are selected on the arbitrary basis that they're the only ones I could get logo artwork for when I put the page together. |
