According to
MicroDigital's News Page they've just signed an agreement with Penguin Technologies in Oz to manufacture MD machines down under. Although the "Penguin" name sounds more Linux-based than RISC OS, they apparently have strong ties to RISC OS via a long-standing distribution agreement with a certain nut-logo'd ex computer company.
Interesting quote from Penguin MD Steve Percy:
This agreement represents a great opportunity the time is right for a new technology to replace the ageing PCs and the Microdigital range was a strong contender. Having seen the mistakes that were made by others in the past, I certainly do not intend to allow them to be repeated".
Apparently MicroDigital Australia, as the new company will be called, will be supported by a national dealer network and a television and press advertising campaign. Lucky .

Did you read in the original MD press release that they had also planned the Omega for the Linux market?
I wonder what OS the TV ads will be talking about.... |

Someone better tell them that the RS7500 doesn't have PCI slots and it won't take the StrongARM multiprocessor cards.
