Stuart Tyrrell's been a busy boy. Not content with releasing a new USB camera range for RISC OS, he's started a whole new company to ensure his future in RISC OS development.
First off, the camera - or cameras, as there are two versions, one with a flash and one without. These are tiny (83mm x 40mm x 27mm, or 3.27" x 1.6" x 1.04" in English) 2.1 megapixel (1600x1200) snappers with a 4x digital zoom, self timer, and on the back is a 1.5" colour TFT screen for either viewfinding or picture playback. There's even a mini tripod in the pack! They're aimed at people who don't want all the buttons and expense of the semi-professional gear sold by PhotoDesk Ltd. Oh, don't forget you need a Simtec USB card.
Standard Digital Camera : £79 + P&P + VAT = £99
Flash Digital Camera : £96 + P&P + VAT = £119
Simtec USB card: £69.95 + P&P + VAT = £89
The new company is called Advantage Six Ltd., which is so new that it doesn't even have a logo or proper website yet, but will be at http://www.advantage6.com/ RSN. Stuart Tyrrell Developments will still continue, but under the protection of Advantage Six, which is a proper Limited Company. Stu sees RISC OS product development continuing unabated, but new staff will be taken on to handle business contracts.
Nice to hear of a RISC OS related company growing! Long may it continue.

Or 83mm x 40mm x 27mm in English if you were schooled in the country past the mid 70's. :P That's just European propaganda :pAnyway, I was schooled in the 1980s. That's why I still have to rely on what my Mum and Dad taught me. ;) |
